Egyptian, Ethiopian and Sudanese delegations will take part in the
committee meetings that will start on Saturday to resume negotiations
over Ethiopia's renaissance dam crisis.
Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi along with his
accompanying delegation headed to Ethiopia on Friday to take part in
meetings.
In exclusive statements to Al-Ahram newspaper, Moghazi said that his
visit to Ethiopia would turn a new leaf in coordination and cooperation
between the two countries.
In another context, Moghazi noted that Egypt has sent an official
message to the Ethiopian Water and Electricity Ministry to make the
Egyptian side get acquainted with the details of the new dam, which
would be established on Baro Akobo River.
The Egyptian delegation will make an exploratory tour of the site of
the renaissance dam on Sunday, upon an invitation from the Ethiopian
water and electricity ministry.
Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan formed a tripartite technical committee last year to study the possible effects of Ethiopia's dam.
