The diminutive play maker is a superb ball player with a swift right football that has left opponents and fans alike mesmerized not forgetting the impact he has had in the team for many years.
The Al Ittihad player believes in consistency and despite the odds against African champions Nigeria, Shimelis has his sights firmly on the second leg which he describes as do or die as he envisages his long term dream of qualifying for the World Cup.
"Time has come for another encounter with the African champions Nigeria ,it will be a tough game considering that we lost to them at home but as footballers we always believe nothing can stop us from performing as long as we play as a team and ensure that we try and get the goals as well as playing good football."
"Many pundits have already predicted that Nigeria have already qualified for the World cup by virtue of beating us at home but that is to our advantage because if they dare rest on their laurels then they might be surprised at the end of the 90 minutes all in all we pray to God to uplift us up as we give our best," Shimeles told supersport.com.
