Furman slams Ethiopian spitter

Dean Furman has hit out at Ethiopia’s Addis Hintsa for spitting
Dean Furman has hit out at Ethiopia’s Addis Hintsa for spitting at him during yesterday’s 2014 World Cup qualifying defeat in Addis Ababa.
Bafana Bafana lost the match 2-1 courtesy of Bernard Parker’s own-goal and, to add insult to injury, Furman then had one of the opposition players spit in his face as well.
“I’ve seen some things in the game but to be spat in the face by another player is the lowest of the low,” he ranted on Twitter.

“Ethiopia no.20 you are a disgrace to football and your country. I hope FIFA/CAF investigates this matter properly!”
As it turns out, FIFA are investigating – but for the fact that Ethiopia could lose the three points the picked up against Botswana because they fielded an ineligible player.
Spitting has been in the news recently, with Ajax Cape Town striker Mabhuti Khenyeza being banned for 12 months for spitting and verbally abusing an official in the match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
