MK Molla will share his perspective on the social and economic challenges and political implications facing Israel currently, and as a potential result of the upcoming UN vote
Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Shlomo Molla, will discuss his remarkable journey from boyhood in Ethiopia to his role as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset during Kabbalat Shabbat and Sukkot services starting at 6:15 p.m., this Friday, Oct. 14, at The Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Weston and Wilton, 30 Hillspoint Road, Westport.
As per a press release, MK Molla will share his perspective on the social and economic challenges and political implications facing Israel currently, and as a potential result of the upcoming UN vote.
According to an article in the Jerusalem Post, MK Shlomo Molla (Kadima) was elected deputy Knesset speaker in August. He will become the first Ethiopian to fill the role when the Knesset summer recess ends in late October.
As the article points out, if both President Shimon Peres and Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin were out of the country, Molla could serve as Israel’s president.
