Accra, Sept. 23,
GNA - The Desert Hawks of Sudan will hold a nine-day training camp in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia as part of preparations for next month’s crucial 2012 Africa
Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana’ Black Stars.
The Sudanese will
be in Addis Ababa from September 29 to October 4 to fine-tune their tactics for
the must win encounter against the Black Stars scheduled for October 8 on home
grounds in Khartoum.
Information
gathered by GNA Sports has it that Sudanese coach Mohamed Abdallah “Mazda” has
called up 22 players for the trip to neighbouring Ethiopia.
During their stay
in the Ethiopian capital, the Desert Hawks will also test their strength
against some local sides.
Meanwhile, the
Sudan Football Association (SFA) has formed a task force headed by SFA Vice
President, Eltiraife Elsidding Ahmed for the crucial match.
Ghana and Sudan
share joint top spot of Group I on 13-points apiece and the Desert Hawks can
only wrap up the group winners spot with a victory. The reverse fixture ended
barren in Kumasi last year.
Sudan won the
