Ethiopian woman was beaten, strangled to death by her Husband

Arab Mohamed Ali
The state medical examiner has released the autopsy for a 23-year-old housewife who police say was beat and strangled to death by her husband.
Arab Mohamed Ali, 33, was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in February in the death of his wife, Safaya Dadacha, according to the High Point City Clerk’s office. He is being held at the High Point Jail without bond.
The autopsy shows evidence of head trauma from a blunt instrument and bruising around Dadacha’s neck indicating she was strangled.
Ali remains in custody at the High Point Jail and has a court appearance in High Point’s District Court for a probable cause hearing on May 10.

“We are going to go full force with the prosecution of the case,” said Walt Jones, head of the High Point District Attorney’s office. “We are certainly committed to prosecuting the case and attaching all the seriousness to it that it demands.”
Police responded to the a domestic disturbance call at the couple’s home, 2113 Wingate Place, at 2 p.m. on Feb. 18. They found Dadacha unconscious inside the home, along with blood on the walls, according to police reports. Ali was the one that made the call to emergency personal.
Dadacha was taken to High Point Regional Hospital, where she died in the Intensive Care Unit from her injuries the next day. The couple’s two children, ages 2 and 4, were home at the time and were taken into the custody of the Department of Social Services.
The Ethiopian woman’s death was the city’s first homicide this year.
