Barreto also rued missing out on a friendly match to prepare the team ahead of the clash as he noted that he was not happy with the training at the artificial Abebe Bikila stadium because the national stadium was not prepared in time.
“I had talked to the federation about the need of a friendly match but the game was not effected on time meaning we will go to the match against Mali without any match preparation,” Barreto told supersport.com.
“I have not got important support like getting video tapes for Mali so I have been depending on friends so that I can analyse them.”
Mariano also rued the lack of playing time for local players in top local clubs.
“As you know, in Ethiopia, the clubs are using foreign players in key positions which limits football action for the local players supposed to be in the national team,” Mariano added.
Ethiopia lost their first two matches 1-2 to Algeria at home and 3-2 away to Malawi and will need to win both their home matches if they have any chance of qualifying for Afcon 2015.
