ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Ethiopia's year-on-year inflation rate fell to 5.6 percent in September from 7.2 percent in August, due to a slower rise in food and other prices, official data showed on Thursday.
The Central Statistics Agency said inflation for non-food items, such as khat - a leafy plant chewed as a stimulant - and clothing, slowed to 7.8 percent from 9.4 percent the previous month. Food inflation also dropped to 3.6 percent from 5.2 percent.
