Two Emiratis allegedly broke into the house of Ethiopian women and raped two of them and stole their belongings, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
AMI, 28, jobless, is accused of raping SD. MMS, 32, is accused of raping ZAI. The two are also accused of theft and physically assaulting five women.
ZAI, 34, jobless, testified that while she was sleeping with her roommates, three men, two of whom were masked, threatend them and asked them to give their belongings and money.
“We emptied our hand bags and they collected the mobiles and the cash. They beat us and one of the masked men dragged me to the bathroom, threatening me with a stick he was holding and raped me for about half an hour and then they all left the house,” she testified.
SD, 26, testified that at around 3 am they were shocked to see three men in the house.
“The first accused, who was uncovered, face dragged me into another room after stealing our belongings and, under threat of a sword, he raped me after hitting my head on the wall, pushing me to the ground and undressing me.”
HMD, 29, waitress, repeated the same testimony saying that the third man was guarding the door to prevent any of the women from seeking help or running away.HMM, 24, maid, SAL, 24, jobless, repeated the same testimony.
Lieutenant Humaid Abdullah testified that police received a complaint about rape and theft at one of the villas in Al Jafliya area. Police reached the first accused AMI who claimed that they had consensual sex with the women but admitted to stealing three mobile phones. The second accused confirmed the story of the first accused.
The victims identified AMI when shown in an identification parade.
Police confiscated the mobile phones of the victims with AMI.
The court will reconvene on January 27.
